Favorite Nail Polish

I have found a new nail polish that I am totally obsessed with! It is Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Strobe Light. I have been looking for a glittery nail polish for a while now and am so happy I found this one. I got it at Target for only $2, which makes it even better! The multi-colored glitter makes me so happy whenever I look down at my hands. The texture is a little inconsistent, which would normally bother me with a solid color, but since this is glitter, you can't tell if there are any bumps or smudges. (Which is perfect for me because I am pretty bad at painting my right hand...) It took about three coats for me to get the glitter I wanted, but two would have worked as well. This polish would also look pretty with a light pink under it, if you wanted a different look. If you love sparkly things and like to paint your nail polish, check this color out!
Tip of the Day: When removing a dark or stubborn nail polish, tear a cotton ball into a few pieces and saturate them with nail polish remover. Place the individual pieces on your nails and let them sit for a about 30 seconds. Then, take a whole cotton ball dipped in nail polish remover and wipe it over the nails where the saturated pieces have been sitting. This should remove the stubborn polish (glitter is definitely not easy to get off...) much faster then normal!
Love,
Grace
P.S. I'm sorry for my bad photography haha its hard to get a flattering picture of your hand!
Also, the picture does not do the glittery shine justice! So amplify the shimmer by at least 3!

Eclipse Premiere at 12:01

Unless you have been living in a hole, you know that tonight at 12:01 is the premiere of Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight series! I am so excited! The book was amazing, and I can not wait to see how it translates into a movie. Is anyone seeing it tonight at midnight??

My Inspiration: Basalt, Colorado

One of the places I love the most is Basalt, Colorado, also known as my home away from home. I have been coming here for about four years now, and find something new to explore every time I visit. In the winter, my family skis, sleds, and drinks hot chocolate by the fire and in the summer, we bike, hike, swim, etc. Whenever I visit Basalt, I feel refreshed and rejuvenated. It is like my personal brand of Red Bull. I am always inspired to be a nicer, healthier person when I am here. That is why I have decided to write about it as one of my inspirations. Do you have a place like Basalt you like to visit? I would love to here about it!

Trends: Wonderful Whites

One of my favorite summer trends is the white-out that has taken over stores. It is so refreshing, and it is fun to add cute accessories to a simple white dress! I enjoy wearing flowy white tops with skinny white jeans, or a girly white skirt with a neutral tank top. I like these J Brand jeans (158) along with this super cute Alice and Olivia dress (396). Wear both with a neutral shoe, like these Michael Kors wedges (now on sale for $49!!) I love this trend and have enjoyed wearing my white clothes this summer! Is there a summer trend you like? Tell me about it!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to everyone! I hope everyone treated their father with love and respect on their special day. :)
I love my dad soooooooooooooooooooo much, and today, he gets a shout-out! Love you daddy! The picture shown is from one of my favorite hikes in Colorado, Hanging Lake. We did it as a family last summer and I love this picture of the two of us. Have a great day Pappa Bear!

Two New (Pink) Products

In my family, I am known as the "product junkie". I am always finding a new lip gloss, shampoo, or perfume I want to try and I've done it again! I have found a new summer lipstick and nail polish. The lipstick is MAC's Chatterbox, a bright coraly-pink. It looks brighter in the tube than it is on your lips. It is a definitely color that is fun to play with during the summer. The nail polish I have found is Essie's Princess Pink (shown above). I am a fan of pale pink polishes because they are easy for me to apply by myself. This polish is different from my others though, because it is somewhat metallic, in the prettiest way possible. In the right light, it almost looks light lilac. Again, I love finding new products, so there will probably be a lot of posts like this one telling you about my favorite products. Until next time...

Assignment Photos

I sent in my pictures to Teen Vogue today! I hope they are what Guess was looking for. I included a few photos that I included to TV. My theme was Winter Fairytale, so I tried to use wintery colors, like gold, cream, grey, and brown. I drove all over town finding the right backgrounds! Tell me what you think. Do they say Winter Fairytale to you?

Teen Vogue and Guess Watch Assignment

This past week I have been very busy preparing for my Teen Vogue and Guess Watch Assignment!! It has been sooo fun and I have loved every part of it! This assignment is an amazing opportunity I was very lucky to receive. It all started when I signed up to be a Teen Vogue It-girl. As an It-girl, you get to take surveys, participate in discussions, and get email updates. A few weeks ago, I took one about Guess Watches. Soon after, I received an email from the associate Marketing Manager at Teen Vogue asking if I would be interested in being a Guess Ambassador. It kind of snowballed from there. I was asked to "build a look around the watch based on the Winter Fairytale trend for Fall". I was sent ten watches from Guess that I was able to play with. Yesterday, I took the outfits I had styled with three of the watches and had my mom take photos of me. It was like a mini photo shoot! I am sending in my photos tonight. I hope they are what Teen Vogue and Guess were looking for! I am so happy that I was able to have this opportunity and hopefully it will help me on my journey into the fashion industry. I'll let you know how it goes!

Lola Perfume: New, Softer Look

When Marc Jacobs released his scent Lola, I loved it right away. I loved it even more when I saw what the bottle looked like. Purple is one of my favorite colors (it's the color of royalty) and the flowers on top are so romantic. Lola the second time around is going to be even better. Marc has decided to adorn the purple bottle with fuzzy flowers so they will be soft and gentle. I can't wait to get my bottle July 1st, when it is released. It is limited edition so make sure you get yours fast!

I LOVE ALTERNATIVE EARTH

Okay, I bought the most incredible sweatshirt today. It is by a brand called "Alternative Earth". It is not that fashionable but is the softest thing I have ever felt! I wanted to buy every color it came in. (Soft purples, pinks, blues, creams, and different shades of grays) I went with the light grey so it would go with everything. It is now my new blanket... I am wearing it right now! The brand Alternative Earth is amazing too. They make their products with organic cotton, recycled polyester, and non-toxic dyes. I am thinking of ordering some of their t-shirts and cute shorts as well. If you are looking for some new basic pieces that are comfortable and casual, this is a great place to look! Click here for a link to their website.

Perfect Summer Shirt

Today I found the perfect summer shirt! It is incredibly soft and comes in the best colors. Mine is light blue with ocean green splotches. The other colors available are light pink with peach splotches and dark blue with white splotches. It is made by Velvet for $92. While it is somewhat pricey, I know I will be wearing it countless times in the warm weather! It looks great with white shorts, or even layered over a dress. I am wearing mine today over a basic brown dress and it looks great! I am so excited to find a simple shirt that I can wear with almost anything. Have you found a summer basic that you are excited about? I would love to hear about it!

Summer Essentials

Hey guys! So, for one of my first posts I have decided to talk about my "Summer Essentials". I am finally out of classes, which gave me time to collect my five favorite summer products. They are really helpful and I enjoy using all of them!
The first one (well actually it is really two) is my shampoo and conditioner. They are made by Organix and are coconut scented. I absolutely love them! My hair is so shiny and soft, and I smell softly like a tropical island. It's also really cool because Organix makes a lot of products to go with the coconut milk scent, such as mousse, split-end mender, repair treatment, etc. You can find this brand at many local drugstores for a reasonable price. You can also go to http://www.organixhair.com/coconutmilk.asp.
The second product I am loving is my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Copper Diamond. It is perfect for summer! You can dap one of the pretty golds on your eyelids, or you could also swirl some onto your cheeks and shoulders for a gentle glow. There are other Shimmer Bricks also for different skin tones as well. Although it is a little more pricy at $40-50, it is so worth it because it is so versatile. It also lasts a long time and you will use it all summer!
Just yesterday I picked up a new nail polish. It's called Dream Maker and it is from Nicole by O.P.I. It's a nice summer shade: light pink with a little shimmer. After two coats, it was almost opaque. It would also look pretty over a darker shade of pink or purple to add some sparkle. I am excited to continue to use this throughout the warm weather! Get it at http://www.nicolebyopi.com/!
For my lips during the summer, I love wearing Laura Mercier's Lip Glace in Crystal. It is not gloppy or sticky, and it smells amazing! It stays on for a long time and I can layer it over a pink stain or just wear it by itself for a more natural look. For those who don't want to pay $22 for lipgloss, Neutrogena also makes moisturizing glosses with SPF in them.
For my final Summer Essential, I love Covergirl's Lash Blast Length in Black. I have normal lashes- somewhat dark, somewhat long, somewhat curled. With this mascara though, I have beautiful NATURAL looking lashes. If you want something that is more dramatic that look more like a fluttery false pair, then this is not for you. I personally love it for summer because it does not sweat off and it looks my lashes, only enhanced. Buy it here at http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=lashblast_length_mascara.
I hope you love these products as much as I do! Have a great summer!

Grace
