Seeing Spots

One of the biggest trends that I noticed last night were animal prints. They are everywhere! Cheetah was most popular, but I saw other types as well. I think this look is so cute and definitely wearable. For those of you who don't want to wear a bright fur coat, try ballet flats. Animal prints on your feet are stylish, but not too bold if you're not sure about the trend. Stuart Weitzman makes a good pair. Besides the animal prints, I also saw a lot of fur. (faux, obviously!) They were every where though. Fuzzy vests, long coats, cropped sleeves, etc. I saw a lot of variety in color as well. While some designers stayed with the jungle animal theme, others went for a soft gray or crimson. Although this isn't an every day look, it is still fun for the cold events when you want to look cute but stay warm at the same time. I put many examples of the looks above. I think Rebecca Taylor (the first two pictures) is a good brand to try if you don't want the look to be in-your-face. Her colors are a little more muted, but still adorable!
What do you think about this trend? If you'd like to know where any of the pieces above are from, just leave a comment below and I will get back to you!

Grace

Fashion Night Out Recap

Tonight was so much fun! I had an amazing time exploring the shops of the mall. Music was blaring with remixes, and I ate a bunch of candy. Most importantly, the fashion was amazing!! I honestly could have spent all my family's money on the things I wanted to buy. In every store there was a minimum of ten things I wanted. A few favorites include:

  • Anything Alice and Olivia :)
  • Rebecca Taylor's Fall Line
  • A grey boxy shirt with sparkly black cheetah print on it from Velvet (sounds odd, but it's cute)
  • Jeans that had been painted different prints, like grey with sparkles, or black with blue stripes (again sounds weird, but  again, it's cute. I will post a few pictures of the brands I like)
  • The 2010 Fashion Night Out T-shirt
Those are only a select few of the things that I was drooling over. I will be doing some posts about fall trends and fun things in the next few days, so keep in touch!
What did y'all do this FNO? I would love to hear about your experience!
Love,
Grace

Fashion Night Out!

For those of you who don't already know, Friday the 10th is Fashion Night Out (FNO)! I am extremely excited and cannot wait until then! This will be the 2nd annual FNO, hosted by Vogue and Anna Wintour. Ms. Wintour created this event last year to remind people that shopping is supposed to be fun! No matter whether you are in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, or Brazil, there is probably something going on that has to do with this. The reason I am so excited this year is because I get to model for Nordstrom in Northpark Mall. There will be a DJ, food samplings, tons of fashion, and a cosmetics party! If you are in Dallas, you should definitely come check us out. Not only Nordstrom is participating though. If you ask around, I am sure you will find out many of your favorite stores are also. Check out www.fashionnightout.com for more information. If you are in Dallas (like me) I know the following stores are participating:

  • Neiman Marcus- DJ, a candy bar (too cute!), and "So you think you've got style?" contest
  • Chanel- receive mini manicures with exclusive colors (olivey-browns) made especially for FNO
  • Barneys- champagne while you shop! 20% of money made will go to a group called Fashionistas
  • Betsey Johnson- DJ, with purchases, get a special, free gift
  • L'Occitane- mini facials and free skin consultants
  • Christian Louboutin- revealing the 2011 Spring line of my favorite heels

I am so excited it is not even describable! It is a big party going on everywhere this Friday night. If you are a lover of fashion, food, or fetes, this is defintitly a night for you!
Tell me about your experience, or better yet, leave pictures! I will be so excited to hear about what everyone  does.
I am sooo excited!
Love,

TGI September!

TGIF! It's only the second day of school, and I'm already tired! I am so happy that today is Friday. I am leaving for a friend's lake house tomorrow, but before I left, I wanted to do a post. Now that it is September, I have officially moved into my fall wardrobe. This means

  • Dark Wash Jeans
  • Big Cozy Sweaters (preferably in neutral colors, like camel and gray)
  • Soft Leather Boots
  • Large, Boyfriend Watches
  • Alice and Olivia!
For those of you who have not seen the Fall line from Alice and Olivia, you're missing out! It is so amazing and I wish  could have every piece! I think I've talked about my obsession with this brand in previous posts, and I think once you see their gorgeous dresses, you'll understand where I'm coming from! Besides clothing, there are some wonderful Fall accessories. Try some of these perfumes that are new for fall:
  • Polo Blue For Men by Ralph Lauren (although it's for men, it smells delicious!)
  • Gucci Guilty
  • Peace Love Juicy by Juicy Couture
  • Coach Poppy
  • Marc Jacobs Poppy Pop Art Edition
These aren't very detailed, but just kind of things that have been in my mind lately about what I am going to be wearing this Fall. Do you have anything you're excited about pulling out of your closet? Tell me about it! I am still adding to this list, and I want your opinion!
Love,
Grace
