Clinique Lip Smoothies for Fall

For those of you who have tried Clinique's Lip Smoothies, you will be happy to know they are coming out with a fall collection! These lip moisturizers are filled with healthy antioxidants and feel great on your lips. Besides protecting and healing your chapped lips, they put a delicious shine that looks very natural. The original colors came in pinks (like Pink Me Up), nudes (like Nudetritious), reds, and purples (try Absolute Acai). The new collection has colors more suited to fall. My favorites are Pom-a-greatness and Guava Good. Priced at  $17.50, they are definitely worth the money! Your lips will thank you after a coat of this delicious moisturizer.

Trend Alert: Denim on Denim

One of the biggest fall trends right now is wearing two pieces of denim. Where I live, it is way too hot to try this trend out, but I still thought I should post about it. The first thing to know about wearing multiple denim pieces at one time, is to wear different washes. If you wear dark wash jean pants with a dark wash jean shirt, it ends up looking like a jump suit, which is not flattering at all! I would suggest a dark wash on the bottom, then try a lighter wash on the top. If you live somewhere like Texas, where it won't be cool enough to wear jeans until October, try jeans shorts with a jean vest. Also, if you are like me and don't feel comfortable wearing denim on multiple parts of your body at once, try a light blue top. It still has the same allusion as a jean jacket would have, but you are more comfortable.
At this point you might be wondering what pair of jeans to try out for this look. Legging jeans are the it-jean for fall! Not a fan of jeans that cut off your circulation? Try a straight jean instead. They have a little more room to move around in. What if you found the perfect jeans this summer in white? Not a problem! If you pair white jeans with a knit sweater, a dark jean jacket, boots, and rocking accessories, you're ready to show off your amazing outfit even if everyone else has their white jeans put away! A third jean to try is shredded. Shown on many runways this season, try these if you want to add an edgy flair to your outfit.

Super Woman Gets a Make Over!

DC Comics and MAC Cosmetics have teamed up to create a Super Woman line of make-up. Out in spring of 2011, the line will consist of eye shadows, lip colors, nail lacquers, and blush. Knowing MAC, the colors will all be representative of Super Woman, yet wearable at the same time! I can't wait to see how the packaging turns out. I am sure if they have comic book artists working on it, it will be like no make-up line I've ever seen before. Mark you calendars, because you won't want to miss this limited edition line.

Burberry Launches New Make-up Line

Most recognizable for their famous plaid print and iconic trench coats, Burberry has always been well known in the fashion world. Now, they have branched into the cosmetics industry with their new line of make-up. Burberry's creative director, Christopher Bailey, has said that the line "reflects the natural style and relaxed attitude" of Burberry's trenches. The 96 piece collection was inspired by skies, sculpture, fabric, and colors. Read on for more info on Bailey's palette choices!
Bailey mentioned that his "colors come from beautiful cloudy storms followed by the gentle glow of the sun." He is also inspired the sculpture and paintings of Henry Moore. When designing the textures of the products, Bailey turned to gabardine, mentioning that "the material used for the Burberry trench is central to the texture of the line." Last but not least, when it it was time to pick the packaging colors and patterns, he turned to gunmetal gray and plaid because the gray is modern and clean, while the plaid tells the world that the product belongs to Burberry!
The products are as functional as they are pretty. I would definitely check them out!

Selena Gomez- Round and Round

The other day, my brother was watching Disney Channel when Selena Gomez's new music video filled the TV screen. I was so surprised how much she had grown up since the last time I had seen her! I'm not one to usually be impressed by a Disney Darling (I am more than often under-impressed). I find the girls to be exactly what Disney wants, someone made from a cookie cutter. Needless to say, I was so happy to see Selena blossoming into a sophisticated women with an appealing sense of style. Not only was her song, called Round and Round, super catchy, but her make-up and clothes were spot on. Gomez spends most of the video in a classic Burberry trench with Christian Louboutin slingbacks, rocking gorgeous waves and matte lips. After a while, she changes into a sparkly dress with heavier eye make-up, sporting a look that is more rocker-chic. Throughout the video, she is inspiring and stylish, and her make-up perfectly enhances each ensemble. Read on to get Selena's outfits for less:
1) Classic Trench Look

2) Cute Party Dress

Although there are a few other outfits in the video, I thought these were the main two. I hope my "Look for Less" was helpful. Let me know if I should keep doing this! Are there any songs that you are listening to this summer? I would love to  hear about them!

Skin Quiz!

I am a huge fan of online quizzes, which is why I was happy to find this one about skin! It puts together a regimen for your special skin type with the new Mark line of cleansers with super fruits. Using ingredients like apples, blueberries, dark chocolate, and cinnamon, Mark has created different lines of cleansers depending on what you score on the quiz. There's a line for acne, excess oil, dryness, etc. Here are my results:
1) Cleanse: That's Deep Purifying Gel Cleanser ($7)
2) Perfect: Mist Opportunity Multi-Tasking Refresher ($8)
3) Moisturize: For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Lotion SPF 30 ($15)
4) Treat: Shine Fighter: Oil Control Mask ($7)
The products are at a great price point, and they sound perfect for my skin. I recommend you take this quiz (link is below) and look into the products you are assigned!

Grace

Anna Beck

One of my favorite ways to enhance an outfit is to add jewelry. I love piling on bangles, rings, and necklaces to make a statement! A designer I am loving right now is Anna Beck. Everything she creates is gorgeous, and I love how her collections are named after exotic destinations. One of my favorites is the Lombok line. The gold saddle ring is on my wish list. Every piece is crafted in Bali, so when you have one of her decorative cuffs on, you feel as if you have just come back from a vacation in South East Asia. I am not the only one who is in love with this line. Celebrity clients include Jessica Alba, Hilary Duff, Oprah, and Nicole Richie. Check out her site to find a piece you love! (And trust me, you will find at least ten pieces you love!)

Christian Dior Fall 2010

I have always enjoyed Dior (what girl wouldn't?) but the fall runway show has made me fall in love! Combining two of my favorite things, flowers and fabric, Christian Dior sent his models down the runway looking like gorgeous blooms. Each ensemble that came out was ruffled, ruched, and draped to perfection. The coloring was bright and pleasing to the eye, leaving me wanting more! Check out this site if you to read more about the runway and see more pictures of the models. They are all beautiful and leave me dreaming about fine couture!

Red, White, and Blue

When I dress for the 4th, I like to look patriotic, NOT touristy. I avoid wearing outfits comprised of just red, white, and blue. Try adding silver or gold bangles-- the more the better! A cute flat or wedge always adds a nice touch. I also avoid wearing stars and stripes together. It looks fine on our flag, but not on a person. Try to stick with one pattern. The piece I will be wearing this Fourth of July is the Ella Moss top shown. It is red, white, and blue but done in a classy, cute way. It only has stripes, and the back is beyond cute! This is a top I would wear any day this summer. What will you be wearing today? Anyone going to a parade? I am! Happy 4th!

Chanel Fall Make-up 2010

It is finally here! The lip glosses, eye shadows, nail polishes, and liners have finally arrived on chanel.com, marking the arrival of Fall in the cosmetics industry. As always, I find myself loving the nail polishes (especially Paradoxal, shown) and the lip glosses (all four colors are beautiful!). The eyeshadow shades look silky and pigmented, as always and I can't wait to try out their new long lasting eyeliner in cassis. It's a beautiful lavender that would compliment almost any eye color. Head over as soon as possible to order because everything is going fast!

Grace
